Cosmetology isn’t just about creating amazing hairstyles and flawless looks, it’s also the science behind keeping our hair, skin, and nails healthy. This week, Ms. Johnson’s Cosmetology students got a tasty lesson in nutrition and how what we eat directly impacts our overall health and appearance.

Students explored the role of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, minerals, vitamins, and water in keeping the body strong and vibrant. They took a closer look at essential vitamins like A, C, D, and E and learned which foods provide them and how they help us shine from the inside out. The students also discovered just how much water we should be drinking each day. (So… have you had enough water today?)

To experience healthy choices firsthand, Ms. Johnson guided her students in creating their own yogurt and fruit bowls. These were complete with yogurt, granola, fresh fruit, and even a sprinkle of chocolate chips. The students then shared these delicious creations with office staff, spreading both knowledge and kindness.

Ms. Johnson emphasized that being a healthy professional starts with practicing healthy habits yourself, a message her students are now putting into action!
