The Huntsville Center for Technology proudly hosted its inaugural Beginner Welding Competition, marking an exciting milestone for the Welding program and career technical education in North Alabama.

The event was organized and led by HCT’s dedicated welding instructors, who brought together students from multiple high schools across the region to showcase their skills and passion for the trade. Throughout the day, competitors demonstrated precision, technique, and professionalism as they completed welds under competition guidelines.

Awards were presented to the top ten competitors, recognizing outstanding performance and craftsmanship. HCT is especially proud of its own Welding students, with one student earning 8th place and another claiming an impressive 1st place finish. Their achievements reflect the strength of the program and the hard work they put in daily.

This successful event would not have been possible without the support of guest judges, volunteers, and students who contributed their time and expertise. The Huntsville Center for Technology extends sincere thanks to everyone who helped make the competition a memorable and rewarding experience for all involved.

With such a strong start, the Beginner Welding Competition is poised to become a valued annual tradition that highlights the talent and dedication of career technical education students across North Alabama.
