Our 6th grade students at Dawson had an engaging math lesson led by Mr. VanHooser! Students explored how to determine the surface area of three-dimensional figures. Using nets made of rectangles and triangles, they worked together to represent 3D shapes and solve real-world and mathematical problems. It was exciting to see students thinking critically, making connections between 2D and 3D shapes, and applying their learning in meaningful ways. Great job to our students and to Mr. VanHooser for leading such a hands-on and impactful lesson!
