Three students are standing next to a chart paper with the problem "7x4" written on it. They have written a word problem to go with it and have solved the problem as well.

Third-grade mathematicians became problem creators as they wrote their own multiplication word problems. After creating their problems, students exchanged papers with classmates and put their math skills to work solving each other’s challenges. They used a variety of strategies, including arrays, equal groups, and repeated addition, to find the correct answers. Students practiced critical thinking, problem-solving, and explaining their mathematical reasoning. It was a fun and engaging way to learn from one another while building confidence in multiplication!
