The interscholastic athletic program provided in the Huntsville City Schools is for grades 7 through 12. In keeping with the philosophy of the Huntsville City Schools Board of Education that the primary goal of all school programs should be the development of worthy citizens, the interscholastic athletic program in the Huntsville City Schools shall be planned to provide opportunities for all students to develop a sense of fair play, exercise responsibility, and demonstrate good sportsmanship. The Board encourages participation by all students in appropriate extra-curricular activities.

• Hours of Operation:  8:00 A.M. until 4:30 P.M., Monday through Friday

*Eligible Huntsville City schools are members of the Alabama High School Athletic Association

Students may participate in the following sports:

• Fall: Cheerleading, Cross-Country Track, Football, Swimming / Diving, & Volleyball

• Winter: Basketball, Bowling, Indoor Track, Wrestling

• Spring: Baseball, Golf, Outdoor Track, Soccer, Softball, Tennis

• Middle School Sports: Basketball, Cheerleading, Football, Soccer, Track, Volleyball
