Three HCS Schools Recognized Nationally for Strong Family-School Partnerships

National PTA has recognized the Academy for Science & Foreign Language (ASFL), Highlands Elementary, and Goldsmith-Schiffman Elementary as 2022-2024 Schools of Excellence for their accomplishments in building strong, effective family-school partnerships that are enriching the educational experience and overall well-being for all students.

These Huntsville City Schools are among a select group of PTAs across the nation and the only schools in Alabama to recognized with this designation.

“Promoting strong communication and community engagement is a key focus of Huntsville City Schools,” said Dr. Clarence Sutton, HCS Superintendent. “We commend these schools and their PTAs for their collaboration in supporting student success.”

National PTA’s School of Excellence program is a year-long commitment to strengthening family-school partnerships. Throughout the year, PTAs and schools collect feedback from their school communities to create and implement plans of action to maintain strong family engagement and make a difference for every child.

ASFL, Highlands, and Goldsmith-Schiffman will receive banners to hang in their schools to celebrate this achievement. For more information about the National PTA School of Excellence program, visit PTA.org/Excellence.
