Five HCS Seniors Named Presidential Scholar Semifinalists

Five seniors in Huntsville City Schools (HCS) received the prestigious honor of being named Presidential Scholar Semifinalists for 2023. Of the millions of high school seniors set to graduate this year, these Presidential Scholar Semifinalists are among only approximately 650 high school seniors across the country to receive the distinction.

The Presidential Scholars Program recognizes excellence in academics, the arts, or career and technical education (CTE). Each year, up to 161 students are named as Presidential Scholars, one of the nation's highest honors for high school students.

The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964, by executive order of the President, to recognize and honor some of our nation's most distinguished graduating high school seniors.

2023 HCS Presidential Scholar Semifinalists:

  • Caroline Cost (Grissom High)
  • Danielle Kim (Grissom High)
  • Elizabeth Sierzego (Huntsville High)
  • Ian Burch (Huntsville High)
  • Ella Duus (New Century Technology High)

Congratulations to all five of these exceptional students!
