HCS families and staff,
Following this evening’s severe weather event, we recognize that many families and staff may be experiencing storm-related challenges, including property damage and power outages.
At this time, Huntsville City Schools plans to operate on a one-hour delay tomorrow, Wednesday, May 21, at all schools and district offices with the exception of Monte Sano Elementary.
Due to strong storm damage in the area near campus, Monte Sano Elementary will be closed tomorrow. Families of Monte Sano students will receive additional communication from the school regarding next steps, including opportunities to retrieve any personal items that may have been left at school.
For all other schools, bus pick-up times, employee reporting times, and school start times will be delayed by one hour.
Please note that early dismissal times will remain as scheduled:
Elementary Schools: 11:30 a.m.
Middle and Junior High Schools (including all grades for AAA and ASFL): 12:00 p.m.
High Schools: 12:40 p.m.
