Even when school is out, our teachers are all in. Throughout the summer, educators across Huntsville City Schools have dedicated their time to professional learning that equips them with powerful, research-based strategies to elevate student achievement and engagement.

  • OGAP Additive Math Training focused on using formative assessment practices to deepen students’ understanding of early mathematics concepts. By identifying how students think and learn, teachers will be better equipped to close gaps and stretch mathematical thinking across grade levels.

  • FUSE STEAM Studio Training, which is made possible through a generous grant from the Mazda Foundation, brought hands-on experience with innovative, student-driven learning modules. These STEM Labs will be implemented in several of our schools as part of the grant program, giving students access to design, build, and problem-solve in exciting, real-world ways.

  • Greenpower Sponsor Training prepared our dedicated Greenpower team leads with the knowledge and tools they need to guide students through electric car design, engineering, and racing. These teams foster collaboration, creativity, and career-ready skills—all while having a blast!

We are incredibly proud of our educators for their commitment to continuous improvement and student success. Their work this summer ensures that when students return, they’ll walk into classrooms led by passionate, highly trained professionals ready to inspire, support, and accelerate learning from day one.
