Sun Meals

Through SUN Meals, kids of all ages can eat meals and snacks during the summer at no cost at schools, parks, and other neighborhood locations. SUN Meals may have a different name where you live, but the benefit is the same: nutritious meals for kids and teens in the summer when school is out.

Every child aged 18 and under can enjoy SUN Meals and eligible school-aged children can also receive SUN Bucks. For more information, visit the USDA Summer Food Service Program.

How to get Sun Meals

SUN Meals are available to any child aged 18 and under, no application needed. Find meals at schools, parks, and other locations in your community using the USDA Summer Meals for Kids Site Finder below.

As of Aug. 29, 2025, the site finder has data for the following states: AR, CA, CO, CT, DE, IL, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OR, PA, RI, SC, VA, VT, WA, WI, and WY. If your state is not included in this list, please check back. The site finder is updated with new state submissions regularly throughout the summer.

In addition to eat-on-site Summer Meals, you can use the site finder to find pick-up locations for places where SUN Meals To-Go is offered. However, the site finder does not list SUN Meals To-Go sites offering delivery. Please contact the site directly or your state agency to explore additional meal service options that may be available where you live.

Sun Bucks

Eligible school-age children will receive a one-time payment of $120 per child in grocery benefits during the summer through the Alabama SUN Bucks program. SUN Bucks benefits are in the form of a pre-loaded card with a one-time $120 benefit for the summer that families can use to purchase groceries. For more information, visit the Alabama SUN Bucks website.
