Three Huntsville City high schools are being recognized among the best in Alabama.
The latest "Best High Schools" rankings from U.S. News & World Report place New Century Technology High School, Huntsville High School, and Grissom High School among the top 30 public high schools in the state.
New Century Technology High School earned the top spot, ranking No. 1 among public high schools in Alabama.
Huntsville High School came in at No. 11 statewide, while Grissom High School ranked No. 28.
New Century Principal Heather White says the recognition reflects the commitment of students and educators across the school.
"We are so excited to be named the No. 1 high school in the state of Alabama," White said. "Our students and faculty work hard every day, and that hard work has paid off."
The annual U.S. News & World Report rankings recognize high schools across the country based on measures of student achievement and college readiness.
